At the kind invitation of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL), ITU and the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) will organize a Forum: Next Generation Network Standardization, which will take place from 7th to 10th April 2009 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Objectives

The objectives of the Forum are to discuss the current trends, status and future evolution of Next Generation Network technology and standardization, as being addressed by the ITU-T and share the experiences of NGN architecture, design, development and deployment.In particular, topics to be addressed are NGN management and control, technologies, NGN migration, number portability, security, policy,authentication and regulatory issues, interconnection and interoperability, testing and conformity, multimedia in NGN, quality of service (QoS) requirements, NGN access networks, IPTV and relevance of IPV6 for NGN transportation.

The event will bring together ITU experts, officials from government and regulatory agencies, and industry leaders actively involved in the approval, monitoring, manufacturing, planning or deployment of next generation communications equipment and services. Speakers will include members of ITU-T Study Groups, technical experts from regulatory agencies, operation managers and technical managers from industry.
