CATEGORIES OF EQUIPMENT EXEMPTED FROM TRANSMITTER OUTPUT POWER CHARGE AND RADIO FREQUENCY CHARGE.

1. Broadcasting ( sound ) radio equipment working in bands allocated to broadcasting on a primary basis.
2. Broadcasting ( TV ) radio equipment working in bands allocated to broadcasting on a primary basis.
3. Aeronautical radio equipment working in banded allocated an aeronautical service on a primary basis.
4. Meterological radio equipment working in bands allocated to meteorological service on a primary basis.
6. Satellite Earth station equipment working in bands allocated to satellite service on a primary basis.
7. Ship radio equipment working in bands allocated exclusively to maritime mobile service.
8. Aircraft radio equipment working in bands allocated exclusively to a aeronautical mobile service.
9. Amateur radio equipment working in bands allocated an exclusively to amateur radio service.
10. Citizen band walkie talkie radio equipment working in land mobile bands ( 26.965 - 27. 405 MHZ) with 40 channels and having transmitter power of 1 w or less.
11. Short range cordless radio telephones working with maximum RF power of 1 w working in the band 46- 49 MHz.
12. Experimental Radio Stations.
13. Coast Station radio equipment working in bands allocated exclusively to maritime mobile service.
14. Maritime mobile radio station equipment working in ( 156 - 163 MHZ ) band.
15. Radio equipment for the control of models having transmitter output power of 5 w or less.
16. Radio communication equipment used for Telemetry, Telecommand and Teleapproach Services.
17. Aeronautical mobile radio station equipment working ( 118 - 136 MHZ ) band.
18. Wireless microphone equipment.
19. Radio communication equipment used for Disaster, Search and rescue operations.
20. Cellular mobile telephones ( mobile / portable / handheld )
21. Mobile radio trunking subscriber sets ( mobile/portable/handheld )
22. Radio communication equipment used for Civil airport and Aviation services.
23. Radio communication equipment used by Representative in Sri Lanka of foreign states, 
agencies of the United Nations system, the Armed services and the Police.
24. Radio communication equipment used for Sound/ Vision Relay of Horse Racing information.
25. Wireless Access Fixed Customer Premises Equipment used in Public Telephone Networks.
26. Radio paging Transmitters ( Tx. power less than 150W )
