Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka PUBLIC NOTICE Renewal of the Licence of Mobitel (Pvt.) Ltd The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (“the Commission”) was established as the independent regulator under the Telecommunications (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 1996, and is responsible for regulating the telecommunications sector in Sri Lanka including managing the radio frequency spectrum. Mobitel (Pvt.) Ltd. has applied for the renewal of its Operator licence granted by the President on 01.02.2012 under Section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No. 25 of 1991 as amended (“the Act”) to operate a telecommunications system to provide non- facility based Internet services in Sri Lanka. The Commission is satisfied that Mobitel (Pvt.) Ltd. has met the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuance, renewal and modification of licences under the Act, published in the Government Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006. The public is hereby notified under Section 17 (3) (a) of the Act, that the Commission proposes to recommend to His Excellency the President the grant of a licence to Mobitel (Pvt.) Ltd. for a period of five years with effect from 01.02. 2012. The public is hereby further notified that any representations or objections to the grant of a licence to Mobitel (Pvt.) Ltd. could be made not later than 26th April 2013. Such representations and objections should be in writing and addressed to the Director – General, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka Commission of Sri Lanka. TELECOMMUNICATIONS REGULATORY COMMISSION OF SRI LANKA Public Notice under section 18 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act No 25 of 1991 His Excellency the President has granted a license under section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No 25 of 1991 (“the Act”) to Dialog Television (Pvt) Limited and Sat Net (Pvt) Limited to operate a Direct to Home Television and Sound Broadcasting Service in Sri Lanka collectively herein after referred to as “DTH Operators” The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka in accordance with the authority conferred upon it under Section 18 of the Act proposes to recommend to His Excellency the President to modify the license conditions, the effect of this modification is that DTH Operator will be mandatorily required to uplink entirety of its broadcast content (Television / Sound programmes) through an earth station in Sri Lanka and to down link such content to the customers of the DTH operator. The public is hereby further noticed to make any representations or objections to the proposed recommendation within 30 days from the date of publications of this notice. The representations or objections should be made in writing and addressed to Director General, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka. Renewal of the Licence of Dialog Axiata PLC
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (“the Commission”) was set up as the independent regulator under the Telecommunications (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 1996, and is responsible for regulating telecommunications sector in Sri Lanka including managing the radiofrequency spectrum. Dialog Axiata PLC (Dialog) has applied for the renewal of its Operator licence granted by the Minister on 11 February 1992 under Section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No. 25 of 1991 (“the Act”) as amended to operate a telecommunications system to provide Digital Mobile Cellular Communication Service in Sri Lanka. The Commission is satisfied that Dialog has fulfilled the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuing, renewal and modification of licences under the Act, published in Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006. Therefore, the public is hereby noticed under Section 17 (3) (a) of the Act that the Commission proposes to recommend to His Excellency the President the grant of a licence to Dialog for a period of ten years. The public is hereby further noticed that representations or objections to the grant of licence to Dialog may be made not later than 15th April 2013. The representations and objections should be in writing and addressed to Director General, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka. Issuance of Licence for Supreme SAT (Pvt)Ltd
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (“the Commission”) was set up as the independent regulator under the Telecommunications (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 1996, and was is responsible for regulating telecommunications sector in Sri Lanka including managing the radio frequency spectrum.
Supreme SAT (Pvt)Ltd has applied for a licence under Section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No. 25 of 1991 (“the Act”) to control, monitor and test functions related to the use of space objects and to provide the capacities associated with the space stations for domestic/foreign Operators. The Commission is satisfied that Supreme SAT (Pvt)Ltd has fulfilled the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuing, renewal and modification of licences under the Act, published in Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006.
Therefore, the public is hereby noticed under Section 17 (3) (a) of the Act that the Commission proposes to recommend to His Excellency the President the grant of a licence to Supreme SAT (Pvt) Ltd for a period of five years.
The public is hereby further noticed that representations or objections to the grant of licence to Supreme SAT Ltd may be made not later than 24/01/2013. The representations and objections should be in writing and addressed to Director General, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka.

Ask Cable Vision(PVT) Ltd has applied for a licence under Section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No. 25 of 1991 (“the Act”) to operate a telecommunications system to provide Cable Television and Data Communication Service in Sri Lanka. The Commission is satisfied that Ask Cable Vision(PVT) Ltd has fulfilled the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuing, renewal and modification of licences under the Act, published in Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006.
Therefore, the public is hereby noticed under Section 17 (3) (a) of the Act that the Commission proposes to recommend to His Excellency the President the grant of a licence to Ask Cable Vision(PVT) Ltd for a period of five years.
The public is hereby further noticed that representations or objections to the grant of licence to Ask Cable Vision(PVT) Ltd may be made not later than 22.09.2012. The Commission is satisfied that SAT Net (Pvt) Ltd has fulfilled the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuing, renewal and modification of licences under the Act, published in Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006. Therefore, the public is hereby noticed under Section 17 (3) (a) of the Act that the Commission proposes to recommend to His Excellency the President the grant of a licence to SAT Net (Pvt) Ltd for a period of five years. The public is hereby further noticed that representations or objections to the grant of licence to SAT Net (Pvt) Ltd may be made not later than 30th May 2012.
