TRCSL Awards Spectrum for 5G Broadband Services After Historic Auction

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has successfully conducted the first-ever spectrum auction in the country’s history, marking a significant milestone in advancing digital connectivity. Following this historic event, TRCSL awarded spectrum for IMT-2020 (5G) Broadband Services.

In 3500 MHz Band 
o    100 MHz (3400 –3500 MHz) of spectrum assigned to Dialog Axiata PLC      and
o    100 MHz (3500–3600 MHz) of spectrum assigned to Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel

and in 27 GHz Band, 200 MHz (27200–27400 MHz) of spectrum assigned to Dialog Axiata PLC for high-capacity 5G deployments.

This achievement paves the way for ultra-fast speeds, low latency and next-generation digital experiences for all Sri Lankans.
